Roar of '66

This uniquely posed lion, with its outstretched paw resting proudly on a football celebrates national pride ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Our artwork design pays homage to England’s historic 1966 World Cup victory, depicting the classic red away kit. At its heart, the lion honours hat-trick hero Geoff Hurst. His famous No. 10 shirt is emblazoned across the sculpture. Our lion captures a defining moment in sporting history, immortalising triumph, legacy, and the enduring roar of ’66.
“This lion is dedicated to the incredible local organisations whose generosity and support have helped bring Lions on the Loose to life. With special thanks to Hales Freight, Passmores Academy, A1 Bacon and Loughton Men’s Institute for playing such an important role in making the trail possible.”
